Mixed media : (small sized) works
Concept: Raices
Raíces is a series of works born from my need to engage with the fragments of memory I carry from my childhood in Entre Ríos, the place where my maternal family comes from and where I spent many years as a girl. That territory, marked by the imposing and symbolic presence of palm groves, has always been an emotional landscape for me, a constant reference that returns whenever I think about my origins.
In this series, I work with plaster, collected metal, and pieces of dried palm fronds that I brought back from a recent trip to Entre Ríos. These materials represent different layers of memory for me: plaster as the fragility of what we try to preserve; metal as a direct connection to my grandfather’s spare-parts workshop, where my love for gathering objects and materials was born; and the palm trees as silent witnesses of my childhood and of the landscape that shaped my sensibilities.
My intention is to reconstruct, through these fragments, a memory made of remnants and traces, elements that endure over time and that, when brought together, allow me to return to the stories, sensations, and gestures that form part of who I am.
